Come Home for the Holidays, Come Home to Placerville!
The Placerville community gathers each year for the Festival of Lights on the Friday after Thanksgiving, filling Main Street with family, friends and neighbors to share the magical moment when we kick off the Holiday Season with the lighting of the Christmas Tree.
Davey Wiser will be giving stage coach rides from 2-4PM PM. Shops are open late, restaurants are ready to serve you and there will be entertainment on the street.
This year we will have performances by the El Dorado High School Jazz Band and Choir on the steps of the courthouse, Jammin Dancers on the street and the El Dorado Roses will pull the switch to light the tree at 6PM and there will be opportunities to take pictures with Santa at T.W Bonkers beginning at 6:15PM.
It is a very sweet and simple tradition we hold dear. Come early, parking can be a challenge, but it is so worth it!
Thank you to our Community Partner, Vision Mortgage, for helping us bring this time honored tradition to the community.
Historic Main Street Placerville is near historic Highway 49 and just minutes from over 50 Apple Hill farms and ranches, as well as dozens of wonderful wineries and breweries, and we are less than an hour from Lake Tahoe. Don’t let the stoplights be a frustration as you pass through town, let them be your reminder to check out all that is great about this neck of the woods.
